I am just going to talk about teams that stood out to me

ACC

Florida State looked like they are going to have a big season even though it was against a crap team.

Clemson if they can get a passing game going and if they can figure out how to stop the run better they will surprise a lot of people.

Va Tech played one hell of a game last night. I thought play calling killed them but they should get that fixed and Bud Foster will get that D going real soon.

North Carolina if they were at full strength they win that game easily! They were missing 4 all americans if I am not mistaken. A couple of center to qb exchanges got messed up and if that did not happen they could have won the game.

BIG 12

Kansas some where some at a all you can eat buffet on saturday Mark Mangino was laughing his big ass off.

Oklahoma did not see that coming from them in there first game. A huge favorite on saturday and just squeaked out a win. Is this team overrated?

Big East

Pitt played a good game but the new QB made some mistakes which cost them the game. They will be a force in the big east.

Uconn did not know what hit them in the big house. I still expect them to win the big east.

Big 10

Michigan came out punched Uconn in the face and kept on rolling pretty much the whole game! They looked really good and maybe just maybe the heat will come off Rich Rod this season.

Illinois looked a hell of a lot better then I thought they would.

Wisconsin they are big they are strong and they can really run the ball. I thought they looked really good.

Independent

Notre Dame......fuck them

Mountain West

TCU what a game they played on saturday! I know it's only the first game but damn they looked just as good if not better then last year! It's going to be tough to stop Dalton.

Utah a very underrated team they will surprise people this year.

PAC 10

Oregon........HOLY SHIT!

USC......learn how to tackle! Hawaii doesn't have half the speed you guys do and they made you look second rate!

SEC

Florida thought they would look much better then what they did I am sure Meyer will work out the kinks and they will get it rolling.

South Carolina could win the east but Garcia will have to play lights out!

Alabama looks really good they could repeat.

Ole Miss.......LMAO!!!

LSU we will find out soon how good of a coach Les Miles really is. No more stud players from Saban to work with. They are lucky UNC made some big mistakes. I don't think they are a top 25 team.

WAC

Boise State there qb is cool under pressure and he loves the pressure.

Hawaii they really surprised me against USC. The offense looked way better then what I thought they would be this year and they will not stop anyone with there D. They will score a ton this year.

AUBURN -2: Just not ready to buy into Miss St. yet...

WEST VIRGINA -13: After watching Marshall, I think Devine will run all over the Herd...

GEORGIA +3: Total bias here for me. I like Georgia to surprise this year...

WAKE FOREST -4: Just gotta go with a program on more solid ground.

FLORIDA STATE +10: Was underwhelmed with the Sooners and 10 seems like a few too many.

IOWA -13.5: I think Iowa is for real.

MICHIGAN +3.5: Who the heck knows where Michigan and ND REALLY are at this point. But Michigan is starting to look like the old West Virginia teams... a college team is just so dangerous with a QB who can run all over the place - and it doesn't look like there will be any hesitation to run this kid over and over. I still think Rich Rod is a heck of a coach. Its time for the Wolverines to start winning some of these games.

OHIO STATE -9: The truth here is... I think 9 is way too many points. And I would not be shocked if Miami won this game SU. But I have to make this play... haha!!

BYU -1: I think the win over Washington was somewhat impressive... they at least look like a team that can take Air Force.

PENN STATE +10.5: I just think 10.5 is too many points for these two teams this early in the season. And this young PSU QB can make a few things happen. No way do I think PSU wins... but I think they can keep it close.

Hope Everyone has a great week!!

-UTEP has fashioned a combined 10-11 mark in six Septembers under head coach Mike Price. Overall, the Miners have posted a winning record in September just seven times over the last 38 years.
-Enter conference play in the second game of the season for the first time since 2005.
-Gained a 4-3 edge in the series with a 58-41 upset of 12th-ranked Houston last season in the Sun Bowl. It snapped a string of three straight wins by the Cougars over the Miners.
-The Miners are 5-0 in Conference USA openers, tying a school record with wins in five consecutive conference openers. UTEP is 2-3 in C-USA road openers.
-Lost their last four games in the city of Houston dating back to a 38-31 triumph at Rice. UTEP is 1-5 in games played in the Bayou City under coach Mike Price.
-Offense has averaged 43.8 ppg in conference openers during the Mike Price era. In their last three conference openers, the Miners have scored 48 points once and 58 points twice.
-Team has been much better versus Conference USA’s West division (12-13 record) than its East counterparts (5-10) since joining the league for the 2005 campaign.
-The Miners are 2-2 under Price when playing on Friday nights (all Conference USA contests).
-These two teams have combined to average 75.8 points per game in their five meetings since 1950, making it the Miners’ highest-scoring series in history over that span.
-When the Miners yield 30 points or more in the Price era, they are 8-34.
-206 of UTEP’s 463 total yards in the Week 1 opener came from players seeing their first action in a Miner uniform.

Houston
-Preseason favorites in C-USA’s West Division, the Cougars opened the season with a 68-28 victory over Texas State.
-Head coach Kevin Sumlin is 1-1 versus UTEP. Sumlin served under current Miners head coach Mike Price in his first coaching position as a graduate assistant at Washington State from 1989-90.
-With Saturday’s 68-28 win over Texas State, Houston won its 16th straight home game, setting a school record for consecutive home victories.
-Sumlin’s teams have been among the least penalized teams in his two years as head coach. In 2009, the Cougars ranked eighth nationally in fewest penalties and in the first game this season only recorded four for a loss of 35 yards.
-Scored touchdowns on 10 of 15 drives in the season opener. Of those 10 scoring drives, seven were done in less than 90 seconds.
-The first-team defense played just one half in the opener, allowing seven points and 154 total yards. Overall, the unit forced four turnovers, leading to 27 points.
-Houston’s 16-game home winning streak is the fourth-longest active streak in Division I. Dating back to the 2005 season finale, the Cougars are 25-2 at home and the team’s margin of victory in those wins is a remarkable 24.4 points per game. Sumlin has never lost in front of the hometown fans, going a perfect 12-0.
